MISSION

To combat child sex exploitation and trafficking especially in Southeast Asian countries, by rescuing at-risk and affected children, educating and empowering communities to be catalysts for change; and

To improve the lives of at-risk and affected children by providing shelter, medical and behavioral health care, educational assistance, and vocational training that will enable survivors to reintegrate into mainstream society as productive citizens.

HISTORY 

Father Martino Nguyen is a Catholic priest ordained in 2004. As a first year college student in 1995, he began carrying out his childhood dream of helping homeless children in Chicago. His love and dedication led him to many countries, living and working with many impoverished youths on his annual vacations.

During his work with impoverished Cambodian children in 1999, young Martino encountered an appalling tragedy, children being forced into sex exploitation / trafficking. These vile images pervaded young Martino's life, inspiring him to rally a group of friends to combat this inhumanity. These dedicated individuals convened in 2000 and created One Body Village.

OBV's name stemmed from a vision of hope to create a safe haven where rescued children may live, grow, and love one another in unity as "one body." Because of its continued success in fighting and raising awareness in human sex exploitation / trafficking and its global support from people with similar vision, OBV was officially incorporated and was nationally recognized as a Non-Profit Organization (501c3) in November 2008.

Refund Policy

All items are guaranteed to be delivered in the condition represented. Any buyer may reject and return the item. In this case, the buyer will receive a full credit for the cost of their seat reservation, all paid bids used during the auction and any purchase price paid. Free bids used for seat reservations and bidding will be excluded from any amounts credited.

Reverse Seated Auction – Disabled

Our reverse seated auction is unique in that the starting bid price is below market and will decrease with each bid.  The auction ends when no participant is willing to bid further, at which point the last bidder pays the current price of the item.  If during the course of bidding the price of the item has been reduced to zero, the bidder that submitted the final bid wins the auction.

Each auction contains a number of chairs or seats set out by the Auctioneer.  A seat is purchased by using existing bids or credits you have in your account or, in some cases, using cash (credit card).  A minimum number of seats is required for each auction.  If the minimum seat number is not met, the auction may be postponed or cancelled.  In the event of cancellation, all bids will be refunded.

Buy it Now (BIN) with Random Triggers – Disabled

Some auctions may be configured with a Buy it Now (BIN) option. The BIN gives the person with the current bid a choice to buy the item at the current price. The conditions for this option can be triggered by the system once a reserve price is met, when a set time has lapsed since the last bid or when a bidder initiates a bid that triggers a random BIN option.

An Auction may or may not employ random BIN triggers. When employed, random triggers are automatically generated by the system and applied to the bid series when the auction is activated. The BIN is triggered when a bidder hits a price that was assigned. The bidder will then have the option to buy at the current price or to let the option expire and the bidding will continue.

Reserve Price – Enabled

Reserve Price means the unpublished minimum price set by the Seller for an item or property that must be satisfied before the auction can close. The Seller may or may not choose to disclose the Reserve Price on the item or property description page. Even if the Reserve Price is met, the auction may continue until a random Buy It Now price is also met for the item or property.

Bid Credits – Enabled

Participants that do not win the auction will receive bid credits equal to the number of purchased bids that they used during the auction. Bids used to pay for seat reservations are not credited or refunded. Free bids used during the auction are not credited or refunded. Credits need to be redeemed at in the Bid4Real Store in the Redeem Bid Credits link.  Credits expire if not redeemed within 14 days of the auction end.
